Aruba Bank is proud to have sponsored the inaugural Caribbean Journalism Seminar 2024, organized by the “Red Arubiano di Prensa Profesional (RAPP)”, which took place on September 20th at the Impact Hub Aruba. The event, attended by over 60 media professionals, students, and individuals interested in the evolving landscape of journalism in the Caribbean, was a resounding success.

The seminar, themed "Turning Challenges into Opportunities", addressed pressing challenges faced by journalists in small communities across the Caribbean, with a special focus on how they can overcome these challenges through innovation and collaboration. One of the seminar’s highlights was a keynote presentation by Marlon Kock, UX Engineer at Aruba Bank. Marlon delivered an engaging talk on the role of AI tools in empowering Caribbean journalists, showcasing cutting-edge techniques that can be harnessed to enhance investigative journalism and foster accountability.
