Aruba Bank N.V. has formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Aruba to participate in the National Reforestation Plan 2025–2030, also known as Sembra Speransa.
The MOU reflects a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, sustainability, and the long-term wellbeing of Aruba. Through this collaboration, Aruba Bank expresses its intention to voluntarily adopt and support the reforestation of a designated plot of land, contributing to the restoration of native tree cover, strengthening ecological resilience, and enhancing quality of life on the island.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Aruba Bank by Mrs. Edseline Leer-Semeleer, Head of Retail Banking.
“We are proud to contribute to a national initiative that protects our environment for current and future generations,” said Mrs. Leer-Semeleer. “This partnership aligns strongly with Aruba Bank’s We Care pillar, which reflects our commitment to caring for our community, our island, and the future we are helping to build together.”
The National Reforestation Plan invites private-sector partners to play an active role in restoring and maintaining reforestation plots through collaboration with government agencies. Aruba Bank’s participation underscores its belief that meaningful impact is achieved when organizations work together toward a common good.
