Do Cool Things That Matter

This year we celebrate ten years of Good4theNeighborhood. Since 2017, we have introduced the Good4theNeighborhood “Building Entrepreneurs” concept, which was a huge success, hence we have opted to use this same theme and concept this year once more. For this years’ Good4theNeighborhood program, we will accept a maximum of 50 students to participate in the 3-weeks program during the summer vacation.

The main reason of this program is to give the students the opportunity and guidance to build and start their own business; focus groups and sessions held during the 3-weeks program will teach the students the basic principles of creating, starting up and owning their own business. Presentations and workshops will be facilitated by different professionals, who will elaborate on different topics relevant to starting up and owning an own business. This program will start on July 8th, 2019 and will end on July 27th, 2019. Students admitted to enroll are ages between 13 and 17 years old. The student will register as an individual and will be teamed up with 4 other student (students are not able to register or create their own teams). According to Marketing Officer, Roxanne Croes, each team will receive a budget that they will be able to use to create their product, which product they will sell at a pop-up store during the Good4theNeighboorhood Final Event, taking place in Oranjestad, Mainstreet on July 27th, 2019.

Good4theNeighborhood is also the biggest project for students in our community, where they learn to develop their leadership skills, learn how to work in a team and to learn to plan and complete a project in time, while managing and staying within the allocated budget. According to our Executive Director, Nataly Simmons, the main objective of Good4theNeighborhood 2019 in regards to entrepreneurship, is to help the students develop their self-esteem and their entrepreneurial skills on the road to success. Students who want to participate must be attending a secondary school. For more information and to register click on the following link: www.arubabank.com/campaigns/g4n2019
