What you should bring when opening an account
If you are an Aruban resident
- Valid identification document for each account holder: passport, driver's license or Aruban identification card. Identifications which will expire within 2 months will not be accepted.
- In case the identification is not issued in Aruba, the applicant must also present a valid permit.
- If you live in Aruba but do not have the Dutch nationality, a valid work permit is also required.
- An extract from the civil registry or a copy of the utility bill to confirm your local address.
- A copy of your salary slip.
- Only the actual prospective account holder, in person, can open accounts.
Requests by mail, fax or e-mail will not honored.
If you are not an Aruban resident
- Valid passport.
- Valid ID - we prefer not to use driver's license, because copies made are not readable (only for Venezuelan clients).
- Two bank references addressed to Aruba Bank N.V. or to client's name.
- If subject has only one bank, than a personal reference is required from a lawyer or notary.
- Employment letter a/o salary slip.
- Reference letter from employer
- Chamber of commerce documents if self employed (own business).
Note: non-resident accounts hold certain foreign exchange tax requirements as dictated by the Central Bank of Aruba.
